Swedish power metal outfit TUNGSTEN have unveiled their latest single ‚Sunshine Of Fall‘, the third preview of their forthcoming fifth studio album Ashes, due October 9 via PERCEPTION. The track follows previously released singles ‚Joker‘ and ‚The North Will Rise‘, featuring Tony Kakko of SONATA ARCTICA, and further cements the band’s reputation for crafting anthemic, melody-driven heavy metal.Swedish power metal torchbearers TUNGSTEN continue building anticipation for their fifth studio album Ashes with the release of a new single, ‚Sunshine Of Fall‘. The record arrives on October 9 via PERCEPTION, a division of Reigning Phoenix Music, and marks another confident step forward for a band that has quietly become one of Scandinavia’s most consistent heavy metal acts.
Following the well-received singles ‚Joker‘ and ‚The North Will Rise‘ — the latter featuring Tony Kakko of SONATA ARCTICA — ‚Sunshine Of Fall‘ offers a somewhat lighter yet no less compelling facet of the album. Built around soaring hooks and dynamic instrumentation, the track exemplifies TUNGSTEN’s ability to balance melodic accessibility with genuine heaviness.
Bassist and keyboardist Karl Johansson drew inspiration from the season itself for the lyrics. ‚There is something special about the colors, the falling leaves, and that feeling of an ending before something new begins,‘ he noted. Vocalist Mike Andersson described it as one of his personal favorites on the record, praising the natural flow of the melodies and the strength of the chorus.
Ashes represents the follow-up to 2024’s The Grand Inferno and promises to be among the band’s most focused and ambitious releases to date. The album features eleven tracks and showcases a dynamic interplay between melody and weight that has become a hallmark of TUNGSTEN’s sound.
Supporting the release, TUNGSTEN will co-headline the Anthems Of Steel Tour 2026 alongside INDUCTION, with special guests KILMARA, before embarking on their own headline run across Sweden and Norway in late October.
