Three years after dropping their well-received self-titled debut EP, TELOMYRAS return with a record that showcases significant artistic growth and a sharpened collective vision. Drawing on the twin pillars of classic heavy metal and extreme metal, the band crafts a riff-driven assault that draws comparisons to the likes of SANCTUARY and MEGADETH, while their dual lead guitar attack pays homage to the progressive metal tradition. At the centre of it all stands vocalist Sammie Gorham, whose classically trained opera technique delivers soaring highs alongside guttural screams that lend ‚Duskfall‘ a visceral, brutalising edge. The addition of drummer Gavynn Peterson further bolsters the band’s rhythmic power and technical precision.
Critical reception has already been enthusiastic. Heavy Metal Heaven declared TELOMYRAS ‚a gem you cannot miss‘, while The NWOTHM praised the band for carrying ‚the flag of the New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal forward into battle‘. ‚Duskfall‘ features nine tracks — Reckoning, Burden, Witch, Attrition, The Altar, Harbinger (…the Eternal Night), Duskfall, Despondence, and Begin the End — and was mixed, mastered, and drum-recorded by Brad Kennaugh at Bradzilla Soundworks. Cover art was created by Kenneth Yarus, with logo and texturing by Eric Lough, and photography by Samantha Jones.
