Chicago heavy metal outfit BLACK SITES have unveiled their emotionally charged new single „Silent Wars“, a driving rock anthem inspired by a Robin Williams quote, serving as the latest preview of their forthcoming independent album For Eternity, due July 17, 2026.Chicago-based heavy metal outfit BLACK SITES have released their powerful new single „Silent Wars“, a track that carries both personal weight and undeniable musical muscle. Inspired by Robin Williams‘ timeless observation — „Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about“ — the single arrives as a compelling preview of the band’s forthcoming full-length record, For Eternity, set for independent release on July 17, 2026.
BLACK SITES founder Mark Sugar offered candid insight into the track’s creation: „This track is one of my favorites. While there’s some blatant Jake E. Lee homages, a lot of the song was inspired by Americana artist Jason Isbell, of all people. The guitar bit at the very end was recorded as I wrote it — the take that’s on the record is the first time I ever played it.“
Opening with heavy driving rock ’n‘ roll rhythms, „Silent Wars“ wastes no time establishing its energy. Drawing from traditional rock and metal styles, the track delivers a powerful message through moody verse arrangements and a catchy, anthemic chorus hook that lingers well after the final note fades.
For Eternity was produced by Mark Sugar and Chris Black, and recorded at I Can’t Believe It’s Not Mace Street Studios. Mixing and mastering duties were handled by the acclaimed Dan Swanö, with drums tracked by Vladimir Ružičić at Kebac Recording Studio.
Founded in 2016 in Chicago, IL, BLACK SITES initially began as a studio project under vocalist and guitarist Mark Sugar before expanding into a full band. The group blends old-school metal with guitar harmonies, melodic and clean vocals, and progressive elements, drawing primary inspiration from VOIVOD, BLACK SABBATH, and KING’S X. Their discography includes debut In Monochrome (2017, Mascot/Provogue Records), Exile (2019), Untrue (2021) — awarded Record of the Year by AngryMetalGuy.com — and The Promised Land? (2024).
For the For Eternity cycle, Sugar is joined by new members Jose Salazar on bass, Lee Smith on guitar, and Chris Black on drums.
