MARC BROUSSARD Releases ‚Chance Worth Taking‘ — His First All-Original Blues Album, Produced by JOE BONAMASSA

Louisiana soul powerhouse MARC BROUSSARD drops his debut all-original blues album ‚Chance Worth Taking‘ via KTBA Records, enlisting guitar legend JOE BONAMASSA as producer and collaborator across 14 soulful tracks.Louisiana soul titan MARC BROUSSARD has released his landmark new studio album, ‚Chance Worth Taking‘, today via KTBA Records — marking the first time the acclaimed singer has delivered a full-length record composed entirely of original blues-soul material. Produced by JOE BONAMASSA, JOSH SMITH, and Calvin Turner, the 14-track collection represents a defining new chapter in BROUSSARD’s career, one that feels less like a stylistic departure and more like a long-awaited homecoming.

To coincide with the release, BROUSSARD has unveiled the fiery new single and video ‚You’ll Be Sorry‘, featuring JOE BONAMASSA and JOSH SMITH. Opening with an Elmore James-inspired shuffle underpinned by BROUSSARD’s powerful vocals, the track showcases BONAMASSA’s incandescent slide guitar work — a blend of dynamic force and narrative nuance — while BROUSSARD steps into the role of storyteller: ‚You’ll be sorry when I’m gone / When they tell my story, you’ll be nothing but a pawn.‘ ‚We wrote that song in the studio,‘ says BROUSSARD. ‚Joe had the initial idea, and I went back and developed the lyrics. I wanted to push my strengths in melody and songwriting.‘

‚You’ll Be Sorry‘ follows previously released singles ‚I’m Going Home‘ and ‚Trying to Do Right‘, both featuring BONAMASSA’s signature guitar work. Lead singles also include the sweeping cinematic blues ballad ‚No More‘ and the modern roadhouse groove ‚Fever‘, featuring JOSH SMITH.

BONAMASSA appears on ten of the album’s 14 tracks, contributing precise guitar work, searing solos, and co-writing credits on three songs. SMITH features on four tracks, while Turner co-wrote ten songs and is responsible for the album’s lush string and brass arrangements. REESE WYNANS also makes a notable appearance, adding his signature keyboard touch to the playful interplay of ‚Blame‘. The album closes with a New Orleans flourish: the brass-heavy, hip-shaking ‚Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler‘, co-written with TROMBONE SHORTY.

‚Chance Worth Taking‘ marks the second major collaboration between BROUSSARD and BONAMASSA, following their 2023 release ‚SOS 4 Blues for Your Soul‘, a masterfully curated collection of blues and soul classics that debuted at number one on the Billboard Blues Album Chart.
