BRUCE DICKINSON „Change of Heart“ – Dramatic new video for the re-interpreted version of the song

Following the award-winning video (16 awards worldwide, and counting) for Bruce Dickinson’s classic “Tears Of The Dragon”, which was released earlier this year, here is its counterpart. The brand-new video for “Change Of Heart” was filmed in September 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil, when Bruce Dickinson teamed up with directors Leo Liberti and Antoine de Montremy to create a beautiful and emotional film to accompany the moving ballad.

Whilst Bruce, accompanied by his guitarist Philip Naslund, performs in a derelict area in the heart of the city, a narrative unfolds that symbolises the human condition, in which life, amidst chaos, decay and suffering, ceaselessly seeks ways to be reborn.

Throughout the video, various situations from contemporary life are depicted through people of different ethnic origins and cultural backgrounds. These images portray a society that is often distracted and alienated – unable to recognise the suffering that exists right before their eyes.

Running parallel to this, a child carrying a painting by William Blake entitled ‘The Good and the Bad Angels’ accompanies the narrative. Throughout the film, the boy acts as a silent messenger. His presence serves neither to condemn nor to accuse, nor does it offer simple answers. He merely observes. As a constant reminder, he invites the audience to reflect on their own decisions and the path humanity has taken.
Bruce Dickinson reveals: “When we were filming a video for ‘Tears Of The Dragon’ in Brazil last year, I thought it would be a wonderful opportunity to shine a spotlight on the song ‘Change Of Heart’ as well. This song has always been very special to me, and thanks to the wonderful new arrangement on the album ‘More Balls To Picasso’, its message and power feel even more amplified. We used the painting by William Blake because he devoted much of his work to the eternal tension between innocence and experience, freedom and spiritual enslavement, consciousness and alienation, and I am very aware that my own work often deals with the same themes. It was therefore a very deliberate decision to show the little boy in the video carrying that very painting. The child embodies this primal awareness, capable of seeing what adults have learnt to ignore.”

The result is a thought-provoking, beautiful video that perfectly complements the songwriting and performance of the track.

The new version of “Change Of Heart” is one of the most outstanding titles on last year’s album “More Balls To Picasso”. Remixed, remastered and with many newly recorded parts, this one reinterpreted the 1994 original recording of “Balls To Picasso” as a fresh and contemporary release – a captivating, powerful and ambitious collection of masterfully composed and completed songs.

The album “More Balls To Picasso”, received worldwide with enthusiasm, immediately became an indispensable album for all rock and metal fans and a testament to the vision that was slightly overlooked at the time.
