IGNEA unveil first single and video from upcoming album ‚Monumental‘

Ukrainian modern metal quartet IGNEA have released ‚Dreams of Lands Unseen‘, the lead single from their forthcoming album ‚Monumental‘, due October 23, 2026 via Napalm Records. The track explores Cold War-era space race ambitions through a blend of crushing riffs, growls, shimmering keyboards and a theremin solo. An official music video accompanies the release, shot in deliberate black and white to evoke classic science fiction aesthetics.Ukrainian modern metal quartet IGNEA have unveiled the first single from their highly anticipated new album, setting the stage for one of the most conceptually ambitious releases of 2026. The track, ‚Dreams of Lands Unseen‘, shares its name with the band’s 2023 album but marks a distinct artistic step forward, channeling Cold War-era space race nostalgia through a sonic palette that fuses technical riffing, powerful growls, shimmering keyboards and an evocative theremin solo.

The accompanying music video was shot entirely in black and white, drawing deliberate inspiration from classic science fiction cinema. Actors wore authentic Soviet-era space helmets and suit underlayers sourced from the Oleksandr Dovzhenko National Film Studios in Kyiv — the largest collection of historical costumes in Ukraine. Tragically, a Russian airstrike on the night of June 14-15, 2026 destroyed the studio’s costume workshop and an estimated 100,000 historical artefacts. The same attack damaged IGNEA’s own headquarters.

‚Monumental‘, produced with mixing and mastering by Grammy-nominated engineer Jacob Hansen (DELAIN, Volbeat, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy), is due October 23, 2026 via Napalm Records. The nine-track record explores nostalgia in all its forms — from the grandeur of space-age dreams to the melancholy of decaying modernist architecture and the weight of personal and collective memory. Guest appearances include COMBICHRIST and HIRAES.

Frontwoman Helle Bohdanova, who penned all lyrics on the album, describes ‚Monumental‘ as a meditation on unfulfilled visions of the future, inspired by the brutalist concrete structures that once symbolised progress. IGNEA will support EVERGREY on their European tour in November and December 2026.
