GORGONAUT Unveils ‚Infinite Regress‘ and Announces EP ‚Ayame‘

Chicago-based solo project GORGONAUT has released ‚Infinite Regress‘, the opening track from the forthcoming EP ‚Ayame‘, due October 16, 2026. The single plunges listeners into a disorienting world of intentional chaos, jarring rhythmic shifts, and atmospheric tension. Multi-instrumentalist Ryan Bruchert delivers a sonic statement that sets the tone for the entire release.GORGONAUT, the Chicago-based solo project helmed by multi-instrumentalist Ryan Bruchert, has unveiled ‚Infinite Regress‘, the first offering from the upcoming EP ‚Ayame‘, scheduled for release on October 16, 2026. The track serves as the EP’s opening statement, establishing the tonal and conceptual framework for the full release.

Composed with deliberate disorientation at its core, ‚Infinite Regress‘ weaponises chromatic guitar lines, unpredictable rhythmic shifts, and alternating dynamics to evoke a psychological state of unease and escalating tension. Ferocious heavy passages collide with quieter, more introspective moments, while harsh vocals punctuate the sonic architecture with raw intensity. The result is a track that resists easy categorisation, sitting at the crossroads of progressive metal, atmospheric composition, and electronic texture.

‚Ayame‘ as a whole delves into themes of obsession, loss of control, and the reclamation of personal agency amid major life changes. The EP was produced, mixed, and mastered by Bruchert himself at Biffco Studios, with cover artwork crafted by artist Darius Puia.

Bruchert is known for previous work with BLACK SITES, HEWHOCORRUPTS, TRIALS, and CENTAURUS. With GORGONAUT, he channels influences ranging from DEVIN TOWNSEND and DREAM THEATER to VOLA, VOYAGER, MOON TOOTH, and THE BIRTHDAY MASSACRE, forging a distinctly personal creative direction free from stylistic constraints.

The six-track ‚Ayame‘ tracklist includes ‚Infinite Regress‘, ‚Extinction Burst‘, ‚Vernix Caseosa‘, ‚Chasing Ghosts‘, ‚Mastertape‘, and ‚Inner Kingdom‘.
