GREEN LUNG are set to return with their highly anticipated fourth studio album, ‚Necropolitan‘, due September 11th 2026 via Nuclear Blast Records. The London-based heavy rock outfit have unveiled lead single and video ‚Evil in this House‘, offering the first taste of an album recorded live at Rockfield Studios with producer Tom Dalgety.GREEN LUNG are back with a vengeance. The London quintet have announced their fourth studio album, ‚Necropolitan‘, scheduled for release on September 11th 2026 through Nuclear Blast Records. Described as a monumental portrait of the power of nature over the dreams and dominion of humankind, the record also serves as a grand celebration of the occult lore and heavy music heritage of the band’s birthplace.
Produced by Tom Dalgety, known for his work with OPETH and GHOST, ‚Necropolitan‘ was recorded largely live at the legendary Rockfield Studios in January 2026 — the same hallowed rooms where BLACK SABBATH, QUEEN and JUDAS PRIEST shaped the sound of British heavy music. The approach marked a deliberate step toward stripping back their signature multilayered arrangements to their rawest, most direct form, capturing their Sabbathian heaviness, frenzied Hammond organ textures and haunting Mellotron passages with maximum fidelity.
Lead single ‚Evil in this House‘ arrives as a thunderous opening statement, built around a monstrously heavy riff and featuring an ectoplasmic synth solo that recalls the paranoid grandeur of 1970s occult rock. An accompanying music video, drawing inspiration from the haunted house cinema of the same era, is available now on YouTube.
GREEN LUNG emerged from London’s underground heavy rock scene with self-released debut EP ‚Free the Witch‘ in 2018. Their previous album, ‚This Heathen Land‘ (2023), reached number one on the UK Official Rock and Metal Album Chart. The nine-track ‚Necropolitan‘ tracklist includes ‚Open the Hellmouth‘, ‚Dance to the Grave‘, ‚Black Magick Radio‘ and ‚Ozymandias‘. The band will headline Desertfest London on May 15th, followed by a date at Manchester Academy on June 25th alongside ACID BATH and CONAN.
