The band has unveiled the music video for ‚Zory‘, the album’s opening track and first advance single, offering an atmospheric and cinematic first glimpse into the record’s sonic world.
While still rooted in post-black metal, ‚Vyraj‘ sees DYMNA LOTVA expanding their palette considerably, drawing from doom, heavy and progressive metal as well as electronic music, gothic textures, and Belarusian folklore. The result is described as a musically kaleidoscopic collection of songs that moves between crushing darkness and moments of near-pop melodic clarity.
The album’s conceptual core revolves around ‚Belarusian ethno-astronomy‘, weaving together Slavonic mythology about the starry sky as a realm of the afterlife with the band’s own experience of forced emigration following political persecution under the Lukashenka regime. The title ‚Vyraj‘ refers to a mythical land to which birds migrate for winter and where departed souls find their final rest. Cover artwork was created from photographs taken at a family cemetery in a dying Belarusian village during the Perseid meteor shower.
The eight-track album features an impressive roster of guest musicians, including Aaron Stainthorpe of HIGH PARASITE and ex-MY DYING BRIDE, Déhà of WOLVENNEST, and Ingvarr of SCHREIGARM. DYMNA LOTVA have also confirmed a run of European festival appearances throughout summer 2026.
