SICKSENSE Return With Defiant New Single and Video „Newsflash“

SICKSENSE are back with a fierce new statement of identity. „Newsflash“ is a genre-bending anthem celebrating individuality and self-expression, accompanied by an explosive official music video. The release signals more new music on the horizon from the independent heavy act.SICKSENSE have returned with „Newsflash,“ a hard-hitting new single and official music video that marks a bold new chapter for the Montreal-formed modern metal outfit. Blending the crushing grooves and infectious hooks that define their sound with a fresh sonic direction, the track channels the frustration of living in a world fixated on conformity and turns it into an empowering rally cry.

Vocalist Vicky Psarakis describes the song’s ethos plainly: „Newsflash is about being unapologetically you. We live in a world where people feel a constant pressure to fit into societal standards that are always evolving, leaving us confused and afraid to show our real self.“ The chorus hook — „Newsflash of the week, everyone’s a freak“ — encapsulates that sentiment with characteristic directness.

Vocalist Robby J. Fonts adds his own perspective, framing the track as a response to those who tear others down rather than build themselves up. He describes „Newsflash“ as a throwback to SICKSENSE’s original in-your-face attitude while sonically pushing the band forward from their 2025 debut full-length „Cross Me Twice,“ released via Earache Records, which peaked at number 10 on the UK Rock and Metal Album chart.

The band has since returned to full independence, working with producer Joey Doherty and a lineup that now includes guitarist Jackson Snowden, bassist Richard Regier, and drummer Sam Neumann. Outside of SICKSENSE, both Psarakis and Fonts have built notable profiles across gaming and entertainment, with voice credits in titles including Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy and Dead by Daylight.

„Newsflash“ is out now, with more material from SICKSENSE expected later this year.
