Symphonic metal legends KAMELOT have released their sweeping new single ‚Ashen World‘, featuring Ignacia Fernandez, as the first taste of their upcoming album ‚Dark Asylum‘. The record is set for release on August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records, and arrives alongside the announcement of a major world tour.Symphonic metal veterans KAMELOT are back with a bold statement of intent. The band has unveiled ‚Ashen World‘, the lead single from their forthcoming album ‚Dark Asylum‘, due August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records. The track serves as the listener’s first guided step into the corridors of the fictional RavenHill Asylum, a dark Victorian institution where science, faith, and madness converge.
From its opening notes, ‚Ashen World‘ draws on the full arsenal of the KAMELOT sound: the expressive lead guitar work of founder Thomas Youngblood, sweeping orchestral arrangements, and the remarkable vocal range of singer Tommy Karevik, who moves with ease from intimate, brooding passages to soaring melodic heights. Chilean vocalist Ignacia Fernandez of Decessus adds an ethereal layer to the track, her voice weaving seamlessly into the song’s atmospheric fabric.
Karevik described the single as an exploration of the human mind’s inner landscape, touching on themes of liberation from self-imposed limitations and the pursuit of personal growth. Youngblood called it a classic KAMELOT composition that simultaneously opens new doors into the world of ‚Dark Asylum‘.
The album features an impressive roster of guest artists, including Clementine Delauney of VISIONS OF ATLANTIS, AVANTASIA mastermind Tobias Sammet, violinist Lea-Sophie Fischer of ELUVEITIE, and several others. ‚Dark Asylum‘ will be available in a wide range of formats, from standard black vinyl and digipak CD to strictly limited editions including a liquid blood-filled vinyl and a zoetrope pressing.
KAMELOT will support the release with the Dark Asylum World Tour, launching in North America in late August 2026 before moving through Europe in November, with dates in Germany and Switzerland among the confirmed stops.
