DARTAGNAN have released ‚Holding Out For A Hero‘, the fourth single from their upcoming covers album ‚Helden x Hymnen‘. The Nuremberg-based folk-rock outfit reimagine the classic anthem with driving guitars, pounding drums and their signature violin sound. The release marks another milestone in the band’s tenth anniversary celebrations.DARTAGNAN have unveiled ‚Holding Out For A Hero‘, the fourth single from their forthcoming album ‚Helden x Hymnen‘, set for release on 24 July 2026. The Nuremberg folk-rock veterans take on one of the most iconic anthems in pop history, reinterpreting it with their trademark blend of powerful guitars, propulsive drums and emotionally charged violin work. The result is a version that feels simultaneously familiar and distinctly their own.
Where the original carried the weight of classic pop culture, DARTAGNAN transform ‚Holding Out For A Hero‘ into a near-cinematic statement on courage, solidarity and the longing for figures who lead in difficult times. The band’s characteristic violin adds a layer of emotional fragility without diminishing the track’s considerable force. The refrain takes on fresh meaning in their hands, resonating far beyond its original context and opening new interpretive spaces for listeners — particularly relevant in the spirit of Pride Month, where themes of visibility and standing up for one another carry heightened significance.
‚Helden x Hymnen‘ is no ordinary studio album but a collection of freshly recorded cover versions, bridging legendary songs with DARTAGNAN’s unmistakable sound. Previously released singles include the title track ‚Helden X Hymnen‘, ‚Wake Me Up (feat. Ally the Piper)‘ and ‚Für immer Dein‘. The album will be available digitally, as a standard CD digipack, on standard 140g vinyl, as a special edition double vinyl with exclusive splatter design, and in a limited numbered fan box including bonus tracks and exclusive merchandise items.
To celebrate ten years together, DARTAGNAN will headline the Heldenfest on 25 July 2026 in Wuppertal, followed by a documentary screening in Nuremberg on 26 July, and a full anniversary tour across Germany in autumn 2026.
