DIE TOTEN HOSEN have kicked off their sold-out ‚TRINK AUS! WIR MÜSSEN GEHEN‘ open-air tour in front of a record crowd of 65,000 fans in Stuttgart. For the first time, the German punk legends are accompanying their massive stadium run with a comprehensive sustainability and social inclusion concept spanning all areas of the tour.DIE TOTEN HOSEN have launched their ‚TRINK AUS! WIR MÜSSEN GEHEN‘ open-air tour in spectacular fashion, drawing a record 65,000 fans to the Cannstatter Wasen in Stuttgart for the opening night. The entirely sold-out tour marks a new chapter for the Düsseldorf punk institution, not only in scale but in ambition — the band is implementing a wide-ranging sustainability and social concept that covers every aspect of the production.

Developed under the working title ‚Wie Tour auch gehen kann‘ (‚How Touring Can Be Done‘), the initiative was created by DIE TOTEN HOSEN and their team over the course of several months. The concept is explicit in its intentions: not a moral statement, but a practical attempt to make large-scale touring more honest, more equitable, and more responsible. As the band stated, the goal is to do things ’not perfectly, and not as a moral project — but because we believe things can be done differently: more honestly, more consistently, and ideally better.‘

On the environmental side, the tour prioritises eco-grid power over diesel generators, alternative fuels, and energy-efficient LED technology. A battery solution for stage technology is being tested at one production. Catering measures include an expanded vegetarian and vegan offering, free drinking water, reduction of packaging waste, and improved recycling systems.

Social accessibility is a central pillar of the concept. Reduced-price social tickets are available at 19.90 euros for all tour dates, and the band is partnering with the ‚Barrierefrei Feiern‘ initiative to ensure venues meet real accessibility and inclusion standards. Public transport is included in the ticket price at nearly all concerts.

The entire project is being scientifically evaluated by the Berlin University of Applied Sciences (BHT). Over 900,000 fans are expected across 23 sold-out dates in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Luxembourg.
