Thrash metal veterans FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have unveiled the title track from their forthcoming album ‚Rats In The Temple‘, due August 28, 2026 via Napalm Records. The single arrives accompanied by an official music video and marks the band’s debut release on the label.Nearly four decades into their career, FLOTSAM AND JETSAM show no signs of slowing down. The Arizona-based thrash metal institution has released ‚Rats in the Temple‘, the title track from their upcoming fourteenth studio album of the same name, scheduled for release on August 28, 2026 through Napalm Records. An official music video accompanies the single, offering the first proper glimpse into what the band describes as their most technically demanding work to date.
The track delivers everything longtime fans have come to expect from FLOTSAM AND JETSAM: razor-sharp guitar work from the duo of Michael Gilbert and Steve Conley, thunderous drumming from Ken Mary, locked-in bass lines from Bill Bodily, and the soaring, distinctive vocals of frontman Eric A.K. Knutson. The song moves with a ferocious precision that speaks to the band’s decades of refinement.
Knutson commented on the single: „We are excited to release the first single from the album, which is fittingly the title track ‚Rats in the Temple‘. This song has a lot to say and we hope the fans love it as much as we do. It is potentially one of the most technically challenging songs FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have ever recorded, and we are also excited to play it live.“
The full album spans 13 tracks and will be available in multiple formats including double gatefold vinyl variants and a CD digisleeve. FLOTSAM AND JETSAM also have an extensive run of European and Australian tour dates confirmed for 2026 in support of the release.
