CERESIAN VALOT mark ‚Uumen‘ anniversary with WANHA remix single

Finnish heavy alternative act CERESIAN VALOT have released a special anniversary remix single to commemorate the one-year mark of their debut album ‚Uumen‘. The track ‚Pohjavirtauksia‘ receives a rework by DJ WANHA, the alias of the band’s own keyboard player Joni Vanhanen, keeping the DIY spirit firmly alive.Finnish heavy alternative newcomers CERESIAN VALOT have chosen a fittingly personal way to celebrate the first anniversary of their debut album ‚Uumen‘, released on May 23, 2025. Rather than letting the milestone pass quietly, the six-piece commissioned an anniversary remix of album track ‚Pohjavirtauksia‘ from DJ WANHA, the project alias of their own keyboard player and programmer Joni Vanhanen.

Guitarist Tapio Vartiainen spoke on behalf of the band: „We very much felt the need to properly celebrate the first anniversary of ‚Uumen‘ with a remix to highlight a favourite track from our debut album. We asked our keyboard player Joni, who also works as a DJ under his moniker WANHA, to give ‚Pohjavirtauksia‘ his personal twist. As you can see, the DIY ethos remains strong in us.“

The remix is now available as a digital single, with a radio version cleared for broadcasting in both MP3 and WAV format. ‚Uumen‘, which translates as ‚Depths‘, was produced entirely within the band’s own circle, with recording, mixing, and mastering handled by members Veli-Matti Suihkonen and Joni Vanhanen at their respective studios in Jyväskylä.

The album has already made a strong impression on the international press, scoring a number three position in the soundcheck of leading French magazine Metallian and reaching the top ten of the prestigious German publication Rock Hard. CERESIAN VALOT draw on the combined heritage of former members of the celebrated but disbanded act GHOST BRIGADE, shaping a sound that moves through doom, progressive rock, and trip-hop-inflected darkness. ‚Uumen‘ is available on Digipak CD, black vinyl LP, and a limited marbled black and solid white vinyl LP edition of 200 copies, released via Prophecy Productions.
