HEGONY unleash raw 90s death metal EP ‚Deviations‘

Polish death metal outfit HEGONY have returned with their new EP ‚Deviations‘, a four-track release steeped in the raw, unpolished aesthetics of early 1990s death metal. Recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely in the band’s private studio, the record channels obsession, decay, and pulsating aggression into an unsettling and immersive listening experience.Wrocław-based death metal act HEGONY have unveiled their latest EP, ‚Deviations‘, marking a significant return for one of Poland’s most consistent underground outfits. Founded in late autumn 2017, HEGONY built their identity around a deliberate refusal to compromise: heavy riffs, deep organic growls, motoric song structures, and a raw analog sound deliberately stripped of any studio gloss define their approach.

The band’s discography traces a steady upward trajectory through the underground. Their debut album ‚First Stab‘ (2019), released via VIA NOCTURNA, introduced them to the Polish metal scene. A split record, ‚Underground Covenant‘ (2020), followed, celebrating their ties to the Lower Silesian scene and the DIY ethic. The demo ‚Second Stab‘ (2021) and the full-length ‚Turpistic Ecstasy‘ (2022) further cemented their reputation among death metal circles.

With ‚Deviations‘, HEGONY deliver four tracks — ‚Brutal‘, ‚Some Things Should Stay Buried‘, ‚The Hunt‘, and ‚Visions of Torture‘ — that draw comparisons to the early works of CANNIBAL CORPSE, KATAKLYSM, DEICIDE, and MALEVOLENT CREATION. All production was handled by guitarist Herr, reinforcing the independent and self-determined nature of the release. Cover artwork was crafted by Rotted Artist, known for collaborations with BAALZAGOTH, CODEX NERO, and VOMITVSANCTVS.

The EP is available on CD directly via Bandcamp and on major streaming platforms. HEGONY are also available for interviews via email and video call.
