Tarja has released “Tango,” her spectacular collaboration with the Finnish cello-metal pioneers Apocalyptica and the latest single from her
studio album “Frisson Noir.”
Accompanied by an official music video, the
track brings together two of Finland’s most influential musical forces.
Opening with a seductive tango rhythm carried by Apocalyptica’s cellos, the song builds tension until guitars, drums, and cellos burst with full force into a powerful, cinematic chorus. Tarja’s voice rises from intimate restraint to full power as she tells the haunting story of a life that passes by almost unnoticed.
Tarja says: “I wanted this song to be something truly special. Since I’ve always loved the sound of the cello, Apocalyptica was the perfect partnerfor this. Eicca, Perttu, and Paavo made my dream come true.”
Apocalyptica adds: “We’ve known Tarja since the mid-’90s, and collaborating with her has always been at the top of our wish list. It’s all the more wonderful that we’ve finally found the time and the right song for it. She has redefined what it means to combine classical vocals with metal.
We’re thrilled about this collaboration.”
