Made up of lifelong friends Dan Fox and Chris Brayshaw, SKYRACER have spent several years quietly building a devoted following through a string of well-received singles, growing streaming numbers and a UK tour alongside synth-rock favourites LEBROCK.
The album collects eight previously released singles and adds three brand-new compositions to the mix, forming a cohesive journey through the themes that have shaped the band’s identity: love, ambition, nostalgia, identity, friendship and loss. Drawing comparisons to THE ATARIS, THE MIDNIGHT, BOYS LIKE GIRLS and BUSTED, SKYRACER blend pop-punk guitar energy with shimmering synths and earnest storytelling rooted in 90s nostalgia and late-night introspection.
Standout moments include the neon-drenched romance of ‚Under The Lights‘, the reflective longing of ‚We’ve Been Alive‘, the explosive tension of ‚Los Alamos‘ and the end-of-the-world optimism of closer ‚Last Token‘. Across its 11 tracks, the record explores what it means to grow older while holding on to the things that once defined you.
Speaking about the project, the band stated: „We never set out with a grand plan. We just got together every week, cooked food, hung out and made the kind of music we wished existed when we were growing up. Looking back, these songs tell the story of who we were, who we are now, and the things we’ve held on to and lost along the way.“
A pre-save link for ‚Skyracer V1.0‘ is now live ahead of the July release.
