ROCKHARZ Festival Part of Major Metal Exhibition in Goslar from June 2026

The Museum Goslar is set to open a landmark special exhibition on hard rock and metal history in June 2026, and the ROCKHARZ festival is playing a central role. Titled ‚Kaiser, Kult and Krach – 66 Stories from Hard Rock and Metal,‘ the exhibition opens on 6 June 2026 and runs through the end of the year. ROCKHARZ will contribute rare artefacts and host its own dedicated display on festival history at the Kulturmarktplatz Goslar. The city of Goslar is preparing to make a bold cultural statement in 2026, placing hard rock and metal firmly in the realm of museum-worthy heritage. The special exhibition ‚Kaiser, Kult and Krach – 66 Stories from Hard Rock and Metal,‘ set to open at the Museum Goslar on 6 June 2026, will trace the development and cultural impact of heavy music through 66 individual episodes, with a particular focus on the genre’s deep roots in the Goslar and Harz region.

Central to the exhibition is the participation of the ROCKHARZ festival, one of Germany’s most established open-air metal events. ROCKHARZ will present a dedicated display in the Raum Beroun space at the Kulturmarktplatz Goslar, offering visitors an immersive look into the festival’s origins and evolution, complete with rare and exclusive artefacts from its history.

The collaboration between the Museum Goslar and ROCKHARZ extends beyond the exhibition floor. Festival attendees who present a valid ROCKHARZ wristband at the museum box office will receive a discounted entry ticket, with the price reduced from the standard six euros to just two euros.

Further underscoring the partnership, a special evening event titled ‚Ein Abend mit dem ROCKHARZ‘ is scheduled for 18 November as part of the exhibition’s accompanying programme. Representatives from the ROCKHARZ organising team will offer behind-the-scenes insights into the logistics and culture of assembling tens of thousands of metal fans annually at the foot of the Teufelsmauer.

The ROCKHARZ special exhibition and the broader ‚Kaiser, Kult and Krach‘ display will remain open to visitors from 6 June 2026 through to the end of the year.
