EUROPE drop star-studded video for new single ‚The Cult of Ignorance‘

Swedish rock legends EUROPE have released their new single ‚The Cult of Ignorance‘, the second preview track from their upcoming studio album ‚Come This Madness‘, due September 25 via Silver Lining Music. The accompanying music video features a remarkable cast of celebrity cameos from the worlds of music, film, sport and science.EUROPE have unveiled their new single ‚The Cult of Ignorance‘, the second advance track from their highly anticipated studio album ‚Come This Madness‘, set for release on September 25 via Silver Lining Music. Built on an instantly memorable hook and an anthemic chorus, the track balances irresistible accessibility with a message that resonates in today’s fast-moving world, offering moments of reflection without sacrificing its upbeat energy.

The music video, directed once again by Patric Ullaeus, features a star-studded lineup of celebrity cameos, including actress Malin Åkerman, former world number one tennis player Stefan Edberg, astronaut Christer Fuglesang, Howlin‘ Pelle of THE HIVES, and Mikael Åkerfeldt and Fredrik Åkesson of OPETH, alongside numerous other prominent figures from music, film, fashion, sport and science.

Frontman Joey Tempest commented on the track’s origins: the title was inspired by a phrase coined by author and biochemist Isaac Asimov, addressing negative tendencies in the modern world, albeit with a lighthearted touch. Keyboards player Mic brought the initial idea to Tempest during EUROPE’s South American tour, and the two completed the song together.

‚Come This Madness‘ was recorded at RMV Studio in Stockholm, founded by Benny Andersson and Ludvig Andersson, and produced by Tom Dalgety, known for his work with Ghost, Rammstein, Pixies and OPETH. The album features guest vocals from Tobias Forge and Mikael Åkerfeldt, with mixing handled by Mike Fraser, renowned for his work with AC/DC, Van Halen and Metallica. EUROPE will support the release with an extensive run of live dates, including a major tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of ‚The Final Countdown‘, kicking off September 30 in Glasgow.
