Just a few days away from the release of Monumental, the Ukrainian modern metal architects IGNEA open another door to their upcoming album. „Harmony Manufactured“ is fast, heavy and contains a guest appearance by Britta Görtz from the Melodic Death Metals HIRAES, who recently inspired as interim frontwoman of Heaven Shall Burn. On IGNEA’s new single, her vocals create intense harmonies with Helle Bohdanova’s vocals and unfold another facet of Monumental.
IGNEA’s new album is built around the concept of nostalgia and draws its aesthetics from architecture. „Harmony Manufactured“ is based on Bauhaus buildings in its brutal sound. Monumental will be released this Friday by Napalm Records.
Helle Bohdanova on “Harmony Manufactured”:
„The song ‚Harmony Manufactured‘ is a tribute to industrial design, the Bauhaus school and the birth of technical aesthetics, which celebrates objects in which function and beauty coexist perfectly. The Bauhaus movement believed in the unity of art, craftsmanship and that well-made things should not be a privilege, but part of everyday life. In this song, we combine mechanical intensity with a melody that reflects the elegance of everyday products: stylish, timeless and capable of making nostalgia arise, such as tubular steel chairs that have already participated in three generations of owners.
In the video, however, it is the human body that is treated as the tip of the design. After all, it is people who carry beauty and lasting memories within them.
We are very grateful that we were able to win Britta as a guest for ‚Harmony Manufactured‘. Her voice is the technical aesthetics of extreme singing and she has taken that song to a new level. I hope we can get him on stage together one day.”
Britta Görtz on the cooperation:
“Helle and I have great mutual respect and appreciate each other very much, so it felt quite natural to work on a song together. I love the strong artistic vision that she and IGNEA have brought into ‚Harmony Manufactured‘, especially the way they deal with the themes of nostalgia and Bauhaus in their music. It is always inspiring to work with artists who have such a clear creative identity, and it was a great pleasure for me to be part of their musical world for this song. The fact that Helle traveled specially from the Ukraine to my hometown of Hanover to shoot the video made the whole thing even more special!“
