Where the title track explored vampiric romance and spiritual decay, ‚Cross Your Heart‘ turns toward the roads that connect and divide humanity. Blending the atmospheric hallmarks of the band’s legendary ‚Irreligious‘ era with a sharper, more contemporary edge, the song unfolds as a brooding, melancholic anthem. Frontman Fernando Ribeiro’s unmistakable vocals anchor a meditation on mortality, memory and the transient nature of life spent in constant motion. Ribeiro has described the track as a tribute to the roadside shrines found across the world — memorials to those lost in traffic accidents — filtered through the lived experience of a band that has spent decades on the road.
