Finnish traditional heavy metal outfit WISHING WELL has released an animated music video for „Train Of Thoughts,“ taken from their fifth album ‚Playing With Fire.‘ The clip, animated by Natalia Śmiechowicz, arrives as the band celebrates a decade in rock and roll.Finnish traditional heavy metal band WISHING WELL is celebrating its tenth anniversary with the release of an animated music video for „Train Of Thoughts,“ the fastest track on their recently released album ‚Playing With Fire,‘ which came out in March 2026 via Inverse Records.
The video was illustrated and animated by Natalia Śmiechowicz, an artist whose work has previously graced releases by URIAH HEEP, DOKKEN and MOTÖRHEAD. Her distinctive visual style translates seamlessly into the music video format, lending the track a vivid, surreal quality. The clip follows the band as they ride atop a train through the northern lights of Lapland, traverse endless deserts and wastelands, and eventually launch into outer space. As the journey accelerates, the old steam locomotive transforms into a bullet train, with the band dodging UFOs and killer sharks before finally disappearing into the sun.
Guitarist Anssi Korkiakoski commented on the creative process: „Train is the fastest song we’ve ever done and we’re happy with the way it came out, so we decided we need to support the song with a video that makes people listen to it. We contacted Natalia and she came up with exactly what we were looking for. It was great fun writing the video because with animation there are no limits whatsoever and Natalia really took us for a great ride in the world of fantasy.“
Founded in 2016, WISHING WELL have released five studio albums and have shared stages with GRAHAM BONNET and GIRLSCHOOL. The band recently marked their anniversary with a special gig at Bar Loose in Helsinki on April 24th, with further live dates planned across Finland in May. ‚Playing With Fire‘ is available on CD and all major digital platforms.
