MADBALL Drop New Single ‚Tethered‘ Ahead of Album ‚Not Your Kingdom‘

New York hardcore legends MADBALL have released their second single ‚Tethered‘ from their forthcoming tenth studio album ‚Not Your Kingdom‘, due July 24th via Nuclear Blast. The track is a raw, groove-driven reflection on identity and roots, accompanied by a music video filmed on the streets of New York City.New York hardcore institution MADBALL have unveiled ‚Tethered‘, the second single taken from their highly anticipated tenth studio album ‚Not Your Kingdom‘, set for release on July 24th via Nuclear Blast Records. The track opens the album and was, ironically, one of the last songs written for it — a detail that frontman Freddy Cricien finds fitting given its nostalgic, introspective character.

Rooted in the classic NYHC groove that has defined the band for three decades, ‚Tethered‘ finds Cricien dissecting pivotal moments from his past and present, exploring how formative experiences shape identity. The lyrics — ‚I’m bound to all the things / That I’ve done and seen / Tethered to everything / All the good the bad / That made me‘ — deliver a deeply personal meditation wrapped in the band’s trademark high-octane energy.

The accompanying music video, directed by Cricien and filmed by Dave Causa, serves as a visual love letter to the New York City streets where MADBALL first took root. ‚It has a nostalgic feel but still manages to come across as something new for us,‘ Cricien stated, noting the track sets the sonic and lyrical tone for the album as a whole.

‚Not Your Kingdom‘ was recorded at The Boneyard Studios in Nashville, TN, produced and engineered by Andrew Baylis, Aiden Thompson, and Grady Saxman, with mixing and mastering by Lee Rouse. The album is available for pre-order in multiple vinyl variants, CD, and merchandise formats. MADBALL also have extensive European and North American tour dates scheduled throughout summer 2026.
