DEVILDRIVER have dropped their explosive new single ‚Dead in the Water‘, the second preview of their forthcoming album ‚Strike and Kill‘, due July 10, 2026 via Napalm Records. Building on the success of debut single ‚Dig Your Own Grave‘, which surpassed 400,000 streams, the groove metal veterans show no signs of slowing down.DEVILDRIVER are making a formidable statement ahead of the release of their new album ‚Strike and Kill‘, scheduled for July 10, 2026 via Napalm Records. The California-based groove metal outfit have unveiled their second single, ‚Dead in the Water‘, accompanied by an official music video that showcases the band operating at peak intensity.
Building upon the momentum generated by the album’s lead single ‚Dig Your Own Grave‘ — which accumulated over 400,000 streams across platforms, secured a spot on SXM’s Liquid Metal, and entered the Metal Contraband charts within a month of release — ‚Dead in the Water‘ continues the album’s relentless sonic assault. The track combines crushing blast beats, dark guitar harmonies, and a brooding atmosphere, with frontman Dez Fafara delivering a performance rooted in resilience and defiance.
Speaking about the track, Fafara described it as one of the most lyrically positive songs he has written, explaining that it charts a journey from darkness into light and aims to encourage listeners to persevere through adversity. Musically, the song draws from the spirit of DEVILDRIVER’s early years while demonstrating the full breadth of the current lineup’s capabilities.
‚Strike and Kill‘ features 13 tracks and spans a wide range of sonic territory, from industrial and black metal influences on ‚Sanctified In Scars‘ to atmospheric contrasts in ‚In the Moonlight‘ and the thrash-driven fury of ‚Shut the Silence On‘ and ‚Oath of Iron‘. The album is available in multiple formats including CD Digipak, several vinyl variants, and digital.
DEVILDRIVER will support the release with an extensive North American tour running from August through September 2026.
