JINJER: Progressive Hardcore Storm at Wiesbaden’s Schlachthof

The Ukrainian exceptional band Jinjer delivered an audiovisual masterclass on February 13th, 2026

Wiesbaden – When a band from Ukraine rolls through Europe on a headline tour and makes the Schlachthof in Wiesbaden shake to its foundations, it can only mean one thing: Jinjer at their peak. What the progressive hardcore metal formation conjured up on stage that evening was simply first-class – musically, sonically, and visually.

An Audiovisual Work of Art

The massive LED screen at the back of the stage was more than just decoration. Matching animations flickered across the screens for each song, giving the already intense tracks additional visual drive. This wasn’t just a performance – this was a show that engaged all the senses. The sound was crystal clear, powerful, and perfectly showcased the characteristic facets of Jinjer’s music: from brutal breakdowns to the melodic passages that make the quartet so unique.

Textures: Polyrhythmic Metal Madness as Opener

The evening’s opener was Textures from Tilburg, Netherlands. The band, which aptly describes their own style as „Polyrhythmic Metal Madness,“ laid a solid foundation for the night. What was primarily characterized by complex polyrhythms in their early years has increasingly incorporated melodic elements over time – a development that visibly pleased the audience at the sold-out Schlachthof.

Unprocessed: The Wiesbaden Homecoming

The real surprise of the evening, however, was Unprocessed as the second support band. For the Wiesbaden natives, it was their first performance in their hometown in six years – and what a return! Their melodic metalcore with massive progressive and electronic influences hit the audience’s nerve perfectly. The band impressively proved that they haven’t just matured musically over the past years, but have also developed an impressive live presence. More of this, please!

Jinjer: Masterclass in Progressive Metal

Then finally: Jinjer. Opening with „Duel,“ the Ukrainians left no doubt from the first second about who was in charge that evening. The setlist was a perfectly curated journey through the band’s work: „Green Serpent,“ „Fast Draw,“ and „Vortex“ heated up the audience properly before „Disclosure“ allowed the first breather – albeit only briefly.

It continued seamlessly with „Tantrum“ and „Teacher,“ while „Kafka“ and „Judgement“ demonstrated the musicians‘ technical prowess. „Hedonist“ and the epic „I Speak Astronomy“ were highlights that sent the crowd into ecstasy. „Perennial“ initiated the final phase before „Someones Daughter,“ „Rogue,“ and „Pisces“ concluded the official part of the evening.

But of course, Jinjer couldn’t resist giving it their all one more time with „Sit Stay Roll Over“ as an encore. A worthy conclusion to an evening that once again proved why this band is among the most exciting acts in the modern metal scene.

Verdict

Jinjer delivered at Wiesbaden’s Schlachthof – in every respect. A show that left nothing to be desired, both musically and in its overall presentation. Together with the strong support acts, especially local heroes Unprocessed, this evening became a celebration for all metal fans who want more than just standard headbanging. When Jinjer are in the area next time: Go. Absolutely.
