Just last week, Bay Area thrash legends EXODUS announced their twelfth studio album, Goliath. Their first work with frontman Rob Dukes since 2010, as well as their debut on Napalm Records and the follow-up to their biggest chart success to date, will be released on March 20, 2026. The opening track „3111“ was released as a first taste of the album, but its video could not be published on YouTube due to its brutal imagery.
Gary Holt on the video:
„So here it is, the complete, uncensored version of the video for ‚3111‘! To put it in movie terms, we have the PG, the PG-13, and now the R-rated version! Since YouTube repeatedly blocked the version we classified as PG-13 with the threat of permanently deleting our channel (even though, to be honest, it contains nothing that can’t be found elsewhere on YouTube), we decided to release a version of the video that includes all the scenes we knew from the outset would not be allowed! So here is the full video with its own website to watch! Enjoy!“
The dark track is about the drug war in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, and not only showcases EXODUS‘ increasingly dynamic approach, even after years at the top of the genre, but also their willingness to hit where it hurts. That’s why the band did everything they could to make the video accessible to their fans after all. A censored version is now available on YouTube, while a separate website has been set up for the merciless brutality of „3111“ in its original form: http://exodus3111.com/
EXODUS on „3111“:
„We decided to start off with a bang as our first single. ‚3111‘ deals with the drug war in Juárez, the number being the estimated number of murders in 2010 alone.“
