Last Wednesday, the Lacuna Coil tour made a stop in Frankfurt. At the well-attended Batschkapp, visitors were treated to an evening that was positively surprising, particularly thanks to the opening act Nonpoint.

The US-American formation from Florida kicked off the evening and quickly proved they had more to offer than just the usual opening routine. Frontman Elias Soriano presented himself as a charismatic performer with a powerful voice, while the band managed to genuinely enthuse the audience with their blend of alternative metal and nu-metal elements.

Tracks like „Bullet with a Name“ and „Breaking Skin“ went down well, and by the halfway point of their set, the band had firmly secured the crowd’s attention. It was clear: Nonpoint take their job seriously and approach their work with palpable enthusiasm.

Following this convincing performance, Lacuna Coil finally took command of the stage. The Italians, fronted by vocalists Cristina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro, presented a balanced setlist that encompassed both older classics and material from more recent releases. Scabbia proved to be in fine vocal form and once again demonstrated her stage experience, while Ferro contributed the necessary punch with his harsher vocals. The band played through their program with routine and confidence.

The Batschkapp proved to be a suitable venue for this show—the size of the venue allowed for a direct connection between band and audience without losing any impact.
Verdict: A solid concert evening where both bands delivered. While Lacuna Coil demonstrated their experience and musical range, Nonpoint likely won over some new followers that evening. The combination worked.
