Philadelphia’s black metal trio WILD BEYOND are stepping out of the shadows once again, this time with their new EP Black Sites In Lower Chambers. Set for release on October 17, 2025 via Fiadh Productions, the record captures the raw urgency of their sound while sharpening it with new layers of chaos and atmosphere.
From the first strike of the title track, WILD BEYOND unleash the kind of frantic riffs and bone-chilling speed that harken back to the icy aura of the early black metal waves. Yet there’s more to their attack: the band lace their fury with thrash-driven sharpness, giving the songs an unpredictable and dangerous edge.
Frontman Edward Gonet spits venomous lyrics that dive into occult themes, conspiracies, and the darker corners of human obsession – all carried by his jagged vocal delivery and unrelenting guitar work. Alongside him, drummer Evan Madden and bassist/keyboardist Jimmy Viola keep the sound dense and volatile, adding both precision and atmosphere.
Black Sites In Lower Chambers isn’t polished in a studio vacuum. Much of it was tracked in smoky rehearsal rooms and echoing basements, a deliberate choice to bottle the unfiltered intensity of WILD BEYOND’s live performance. That grit carries through to the EP’s finale – a ferocious cover of Dimmu Borgir’s “Spellbound (By The Devil)”, where Madden and Viola painstakingly recreate the track’s towering drum patterns and haunting keyboard layers.
For WILD BEYOND, this release is a continuation of momentum. Their story began with a simple impulse: Gonet’s purchase of a Randy Rhoads Flying V that sparked a spree of songwriting. That impulse soon pulled in Madden (ex-Woe, Woods of Ypres) and Viola, and together they shaped the sound that led to their self-titled debut in 2023 on Cruz Del Sur/Gates Of Hell Records. Now, Black Sites In Lower Chambers follows in its wake – darker, sharper, and more unpredictable.
If their debut set the stage, this EP proves WILD BEYOND are far from finished. Instead, they’re carving deeper into blackened chaos, armed with speed, venom, and a vision that thrives in the shadows.
