Miami, Florida — 70000TONS OF METAL, The Original, The World’s Biggest Heavy Metal Cruise, has announced a change of destination for 2026. The upcoming edition of the festival at sea, which will take place from 29 January to 2 February 2026, will now travel from Miami, Florida, to Nassau in the Bahamas aboard Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas.
The original plan to return to Labadee, Haiti, has been changed out of an abundance of caution and for the safety of the sailors, artists and crew.
„While Labadee has always been a great port of call on our previous voyages, we are naturally monitoring developments in Haiti and the surrounding regions,“ said Andy Piller, skipper of 70000TONS OF METAL. „The safety and comfort of our survivors is our top priority. That’s why we’ve made the decision to change our course for 2026. Nassau offers a welcome alternative that allows us to maintain the world-class experience our sailors have come to expect — both at sea and on land.“
Heading for the lively port of Nassau, Bahamas, sailors can look forward to a fresh destination without compromise: a gateway to Bahamian culture, historic charm and lush tropical beauty. Although the port is new, the familiar 70000TONS OF METAL experience remains the same: four days, 60 bands, four stages (including the iconic Pool Deck Stage, the world’s largest open-air stage construction on the high seas), artist-led activities, the incomparable All Star Jam, and access to the bands for fans in an environment where music and community reign supreme. The 70000TONS OF METAL crew remains committed to providing an extraordinary and unparalleled experience for every sailor.
