WEDNESDAY 13, the self-proclaimed ‚Duke of Spook‘, is back – and more powerful than ever! The release of the successful album Horrifier (2022, #8 of the US Top New Artist Albums) was followed by a triumphant tour as a solo artist and the celebrated reunion of the Murderdolls for several shows. Now WEDNESDAY 13 is in the starting blocks with a new horror masterpiece. The new album is titled Mid Death Crisis and will be released on April 25, 2025 via Napalm Records!
Mid Death Crisis is described by the ‚Duke of Spook‘ himself as an eccentric banger and an authentic return to his hard rock roots. The new record was produced by guitarist Alex Kane (Life, Sex & Death, Enuff Z’Nuff, Antiproduct) and mixed by Steve Evetts (The Dillinger Escape Plan, Prong, DevilDriver). Musically, the album is characterized by its over-the-top energy and convinces with its mixture of dark glamour and infectious 80s sleaze metal influences. A particular highlight is the guest appearance by Faster Pussycat frontman Taime Downe, whose electrifying feature adds an extra dose of excitement to the album.
Today sees the release of the first single „When The Devil Commands“, with which WEDNESDAY 13 unleashes its unique brand of horror! The dark rock anthem is bursting with energetic riffs, thunderous drums and a menacingly catchy hook that immediately burns itself into your brain as a merciless earworm. The striking vocals of WEDNESDAY 13 oscillate between dark theatricality and snotty rock ’n‘ roll attitude, while the music video conveys an atmosphere that is occult, powerful and captivating in equal measure.

„I grew up in the 80s and remember the ’satanic panic‘ well. Parents were afraid of heavy metal back then and were worried about their children listening to this music. My mother was constantly checking my tapes and making sure I wasn’t possessed by the devil. Most of the music I listened to wasn’t about these topics, but it was under general suspicion. When I wrote the lyrics for our new song, I was inspired by what would scare my mother if she heard our music. My aim with the lyrics was to make it very clear that this is about the devil – but it’s also clear that this song is tongue-in-cheek and we’re not planning to burn down any churches.“
