At this year’s ROCKHARZ 2026, the GLÜCK IN DOSEN donation and collection campaign once again achieved a record result with 111,800 euros. In the previous year, the donation amount had already reached the six-digit range for the first time, and this year, thanks in large part to the generous festival attendees, it was once again surpassed. Since the start of the campaign in 2013, over 500,000 euros have been distributed to more than 100 donation targets and a total of more than 2 million donation boxes have been collected.
This year, 20 regional and social projects were able to rejoice at the support of ROCKHARZ and the „Glück in Dosen“ e.V. The donation handover took place on Thursday, November 5th, at the Ballenstedt City Theater. In addition to representatives of the association, the donation goals, the ROCKHARZ organizational team, and representatives from politics and business, Ben Metzner, one of the two front men of this year’s headliner Feuerschwanz, also took part in the event. As a special guest, former Federal Minister for Environment and Conservation Jürgen Trittin was welcomed, who was significantly involved in the introduction of the container tax in Germany in 2003 as part of the then Federal Government, without which „Glück in Dosen“ would not exist in this form. In addition to his speech at the beginning of the event, he gave the following words to all participants: „Unity, law and freedom are the guarantee of happiness – but rock and Harz and container tax ensure happiness. Congratulations to the ROCKHARZ organizational team on the new donation record. Again six-digit, again more than in the previous year. Thank you to all rock fans who helped with their drinking and collecting.“
To conclude the event, the mayor of the city of Ballenstedt, Dr. Michael Knoppik, surprised the organization team with a special award. As a sign of recognition, representatives of ROCKHARZ and the „Glück in Dosen“ e. V. were invited to be inscribed in the City’s Golden Book.
ROCKHARZ, the „Happiness in Boxes“ e. V. and all donors gratefully thank the approximately 100 volunteer helpers without whom the implementation of the project on the ground would not be possible, as well as the partners and service providers of the companies List, Novelis, Heinemann and Stroka as well as the city of Ballenstedt for their long-term logistical and financial support of the campaign in the areas of transport, infrastructure and disposal.
Of course, a very special thank you also goes to the fans who donate their precious deposit, thereby giving a little luck to many children and teenagers. At ROCKHARZ 2027, which was sold out within 3 days, the GLUCK IN DOSES campaign will also take place again.
