Swedish hard rock rising stars VELVETEEN QUEEN have announced their sophomore album ‚The Greater Good‘, set for release on 18 September 2026 via Silver Lining Music. The five-piece band has been steadily carving out a reputation as one of the most exciting young acts in the modern rock scene, channelling the swagger and anthemic power of classic 1980s influences into a sleek, contemporary sound rooted in glam and sleaze rock.
Produced by renowned producer Soren Andersen, the album channels the laid-back spirit of the Sunset Strip’s golden era through a distinctly Swedish lens, drawing spiritual connections to acts such as Guns N‘ Roses, Aerosmith, Velvet Revolver, and Hanoi Rocks. The title track and lead single ‚The Greater Good‘ features piano contributions from Peter Keys of Lynyrd Skynyrd, adding an unexpected yet compelling dimension to the band’s signature sound.
The accompanying music video was helmed by respected director Patric Ullaeus, known for his cinematic approach to rock visuals. The track confronts themes of societal apathy, institutional deception, and the erosion of collective truth — weighty subject matter delivered with the urgency and energy the band has become known for.
VELVETEEN QUEEN, comprising Samuel Nilsson on lead vocals and keys, Lukas Axx and Noah Mardh on guitars, Vilmer Fall on bass, and Isac Borg on drums, have already shared stages with Alice Cooper and Judas Priest.
