German symphonic metal collective CORONATUS presents „Through The Brightest Blue,“ the second single and official video from their upcoming studio album „Dreadful Waters,“ which will be released on January 23, 2026, via Massacre Records.
Following the dark and turbulent opening of the first single „The Maelstrom,“ „Through The Brightest Blue“ reveals a contrasting and refreshing side to the album’s maritime concept. The song transports the listener to sun-drenched, shallow waters—a rare moment of calm, beauty, and hope in an otherwise threatening and dangerous marine world.
Musically, „Through The Brightest Blue“ stands out as the most optimistic and positive track on the album, combining CORONATUS‘ signature symphonic metal foundation with elegant melodies and flowing arrangements. The song is particularly notable for the extraordinary vocal performance of mezzo-soprano Leni Eitrich, whose complex and expressive vocal lines lend the track a graceful, almost ethereal character.
Lyrically, the song departs from the album’s dark narratives and instead evokes images of clarity, light, and serenity: thoughts of graceful sea creatures and mythical beings drifting through crystal-clear waters. This moment of brightness serves as a deliberate emotional counterbalance within „Dreadful Waters“ and underscores the dynamic narrative and thematic depth of the album.
The accompanying official video visually captures this atmosphere and transfers the song’s sense of openness and wonder into moving images that further expand CORONATUS‘ maritime universe.
