Amsterdam, April 24, 2025 – On May 6, the moving new documentary Within Temptation: The Invisible Force will premiere exclusively on YouTube. The film provides an intimate, emotional look behind the scenes of Within Temptation – in the midst of a time of global upheaval.
The Invisible Force accompanies frontwoman Sharon den Adel and guitarist Robert Westerholt as they increasingly come to terms with the war in Ukraine. Initial solidarity from afar quickly turns into direct action – on stage and beyond.
Sharon wants to find more than just words. She travels to Kiev to meet fans in person and give them hope with a concert in the middle of the war zone in July 24. There she meets the young Ukrainian band BLIND8 – raw, uncompromising, full of energy – and invites the musicians to accompany Within Temptation on their upcoming European tour. But the venture is under a dark star: the members of BLIND8 could be called up for military service – their departure is anything but certain.
The documentary impressively shows how war not only destroys local life, but also changes the way artists around the world think and create. How far can a band go to remain true to its convictions? And what happens when music becomes resistance?
