Southern German power metal institution BRAINSTORM finally break their (musical) silence today and present the first single from their upcoming album „Plague Of Rats“, which will be released on February 28, 2025 via their new label partner RPM. First things first: despite the album’s theme being inspired by Indian culture, ‚Garuda (Eater Of Snakes)‘ is by no means a shallow fantasy tale, but a straight-up heavy metal anthem.
The single tells the story of Garuda, a mythological figure who – half man/half eagle – is known in particular for killing snakes and also as the mouthpiece of the world of the gods. Thanks to powerful riffs and Far Eastern melodies, ‚Garuda (Eater Of Snakes)‘ crystallizes as the perfect first impression of „Plague Of Rats“ and more than lives up to its name: a powerful foretaste of the soundscape that awaits the world on the album. The track is complemented by a music video in which the band, together with producer Mirko Witzki, takes its followers deeper into the world of Indian myths, whose legendary magic will not let you go any time soon.
