Musically, „Egomessiah“ is a merciless examination of the beauty and horror of human individuation. For singer Ilja John Lappin, this musical evocation is even more drastic: „A personal shuddering deity like Pinhead cannot be summoned lightly without the most pressing conditions. It must be able to withstand the identification and splitting of the self.
Track five on the album is a celebration of charlatan self-congratulation, which takes place in the over-stylization of the ego. The song „I I I“ is the crowning glory: pretending and knowing at the same time that there is no egomessiah, Lappin lets loose almost chaotically with everything at his disposal.
