Power metal fans, be on your guard, because the Swabian spearhead BRAINSTORM has returned to conquer your ear canals once again with their new album „Plague Of Rats“! Once again created with long-standing partners – Sebastian „Seeb“ Levermann (mixing and mastering; Greenman Studios), Gyula Havancsák (artwork) and Alex Kühr (photography) – the ten new tracks once again take the band’s followers to India, among other places.
Singer Andy B. Franck explains: „The history of India goes back over 5,000 years and the Indus civilization is one of the oldest in the world. Already with the song ‚Maharaja Palace‘ on „Ambiguity“, but especially on our breakthrough album „Soul Temptation“, I was able to bring my enthusiasm for Indian history and culture into our music and I think it fits really well into the BRAINSTORM sound. I love those sounds and harmonies, so it was just time to bring that special glow to the table again.“
He adds: „Musically, „Plague Of Rats“ pushes forward and hits the ground running. This direction simply fits perfectly into the current times and also reflects the mood within the band: extremely aggressive, energetic – attack!“
Although BRAINSTORM – like the Indus culture – can look back on a long history, they are moving with the times: in addition to well-known elements, modern elements have also been incorporated into the album. Another fact in terms of attack is the fact that there are no quieter songs or even ballads on the record this time.
„Of course we’ve evolved over the years, but I think we have one thing that other bands often lose these days: independence. Nevertheless, you can recognize a BRAINSTORM song after just a few seconds – and that makes us unique!“ emphasizes the frontman.
In addition to working with old friends, BRAINSTORM are also heading for new shores: Their booking affairs have recently been handled by Decibel-Touring, and the quintet has also signed a new record deal with Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM), through which their new long-player will hit stores on February 28, 2025.
BRAINSTORM take a stand: „We are more than just a band: the personal connections and chemistry between us make this group something special, which is rare to find these days. Putting our music in the hands of a new label is one of the most important and trusting decisions ever. The „Plague Of Rats“ release will of course be celebrated with an official release tour, during which BRAINSTORM will be on the road for a week together with ARION. In addition to those Finns, the Italian power prog metallers STRANGER VISION will complete the line-up as support.
