Thanks to tank beer instead of draught beer: brewery group AB InBev halves CO2 emissions in logistics alone / Cooperation with ROCKHARZ for even more sustainable solutions at the festival.
The Hasseröder Brewery in Wernigerode, part of the AB InBev brewing group, today loaded several tankers with Hasseröder Premium Pils for the ROCKHARZ Festival. The switch from draught beer, as served in previous years, to tank beer this year ensures a significantly smaller CO2 footprint. ROCKHARZ is already regarded as particularly sustainable in the region, as the metal festival has already collected several million deposit cans in recent years as part of the „Happiness in Cans“ project and donated the proceeds to charitable causes. Since last year, the festival cups have also been recycled and turned into souvenirs.
The four-day ROCKHARZ 2024 starts in the middle of next week (3 July). A total of almost 25,000 metal fans are expected. This year’s headliners include bands such as metal legends Judas Priest, Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson and other genre greats, including Kreator, Dimmu Borgir, Hammerfall, Oomph!, Dirkschneider and many more!
