Nightmares have never sounded so beautiful! KATATONIA, Sweden’s grand seigneurs of melancholy, today release „Temporal“, the second single from their upcoming album Nightmares as Extensions of the Waking State, which will be released on June 6, 2025 via Napalm Records. With his most personal album to date, singer, songwriter and band founder Jonas Renkse gives us a glimpse into his innermost self and combines fragility and strength in „Temporal“. Intense verses lead into an emotionally charged chorus, all caressed and in perfect symbiosis with complex instrumentation. KATATONIA’s latest stroke of genius is accompanied by an atmospheric lyric video.
Even after more than 30 years, the Swedes still manage to redefine the emotional spectrum of their genre. They move effortlessly between poignant vulnerability and artistic grandeur. Their music is honest and unadulterated – a sound from the Nordic expanses, shaped for a world in need of a new beginning.
