Sing meinen Song“: The TV format, popular with young and old alike, in which well-known musicians pay tribute to each other by covering songs, enters its sixth round on Swiss television today! The new season also features two GOTTHARD musicians, bassist Marc Lynn and singer Nic Maeder, which should also attract many hard rock fans to their screens in the coming weeks. The show will be broadcast on 3plus from today and will also put the spotlight on ‚Drive My Car‘, a song from „Stereo Crush“, the new GOTTHARD album to be released this Friday (March 21) via Reigning Phoenix Music. Fittingly, it’s a reinterpretation of a BEATLES song, adding another milestone to the already eventful career of the Swiss hard rock icons.
Lynn comments: „Beforehand, I was rather skeptical about TV shows like „Sing meinen Song“, but in retrospect I have to completely revise my opinion. The exchange with other musicians in such an intimate circle and the mutual musical surprises were a great experience. The high musical quality and the mutual respect among each other were great… I think „Sing meinen Song“ was a positive surprise for everyone involved. Thank you for this experience!“
„Two years ago, we were discussing possible cover songs in the rehearsal room when the idea for ‚Drive My Car‘ came up. As we’re all big BEATLES fans, we got to work and started jamming, which felt good straight away. Luckily we have our own studio, so we recorded it promptly and the result sounded better than we could have dreamed of. At the time, however, we didn’t know where and how we should release the track, but when we intensified work on „Stereo Crush“ last year, its time had finally come: ‚Drive My Car‘ fits seamlessly into our new album and was the last missing piece of the puzzle,“ notes guitarist Freddy Scherer.
