About ATHENA XIX
Founded in 1991, ATHENA’s most successful record to date, „A New Religion?“, was released in 1998, a work that is still considered a milestone and holds the status of the best Italian prog metal album of all time. After a few line-up changes and a longer general break, the original band members reunited in 2019 and started writing their new album, which will be released on December 6, 2024 via Reigning Phoenix Music (RPM). On this album, ATHENA XIX set out to break up the basis of the stagnating current power/prog metal scene and lead the genre to completely new shores.
