Finally the time has come and three years of waiting are over: The Hollywood Vampires are coming to Germany for six shows in June/July! The band around Johnny Depp, Alice Cooper and Joe Perry (Aerosmith) will then shed their image as the „most expensive cover group in the world“ (Alice Cooper).
While in 2015 they presented primarily classics like „Whole Lotta Love“ (Led Zeppelin), „Cold Turkey“ (John Lennon) or „My Generation“ (The Who) on their debut, this was already different on „Rise“ (2019). This CD contains 13 original compositions plus three cover versions including the „Heroes“ tribute to David Bowie sung by Johnny Depp. The ‚Trio Infernale‘ and its four companions have pure joy in making music together and their postmodern, handmade (hard) rock. Tickets to the shows of the US supergroup, are available in advance It is indisputable that tickets to the performances of this formation around a Hollywood megastar, the icon of shock rock and the lead guitarist of one of the most successful rock bands in the world are THE must-have of summer 2023! A foretaste of their shows is the concert recording „Live in Rio“ (VÖ: 2.Juni).
In the beginning, we were all about honoring our hard-drinking friends who died in the seventies: Jimi Hendrix, John Bonham, Jim Morrison and all the others,“ Alice Cooper revealed in an interview. „That’s why we put together a pub band in 2015.“ Hollywood Vampires was the name of a celebrity drinking club in Los Angeles that Cooper co-founded in the 1970s. On the occasion of the release of their second CD (earMUSIC), the players explained, „We didn’t want it to sound like an Alice Cooper album, nor did we want it to sound like one by Aerosmith. The record shows everyone at their best without anyone looking over our shoulder,“ guitarist Perry summarizes. When the Hollywood Vampires fly in full of bite for evening gigs, one thing is certain: their concerts are THE celebrity (rock) events of 2023!
