Following the release of the emotionally gripping „Light Can Only Shine In The Darkness“ by LORD OF THE LOST and WITHIN TEMPTATION last week, the accompanying official music video is now available. „Light Can Only Shine In The Darkness“ is the latest single from LORD OF THE LOST’s upcoming studio album OPVS NOIR Vol. 1, which will be released on 8 August 2025 via Napalm Records.
Together, LORD OF THE LOST and WITHIN TEMPTATION have created a song that perfectly combines the complementary voices of Sharon den Adel and Chris Harms. The track impressively expands the diversity of LORD OF THE LOST’s ever-growing soundscape – proof of their ability to continually discover new colours in the darkly colourful spectrum, take on new perspectives, and remain true to their roots.

Shortly after we played the last show of the 2022 IRON MAIDEN tour together with WITHIN TEMPTATION, ‚Light Can Only Shine In The Darkness‘ was created in an attempt to create a hybrid song for WITHIN TEMPTATION and LORD OF THE LOST, and thus also a duet for Sharon and me. The fact that this has now worked out is the fulfilment of a very big wish, because a duet with Sharon has been, no, was, at the top of my bucket list for over a decade!“
