AS I LAY DYING announce new album + release new single with Slaughter To Prevail and Chelsea Grin vocalists

Grammy-nominated metalcore pioneers AS I LAY DYING have recently announced their long-awaited eighth studio album Through Storms Ahead, which will be released on November 15, 2024 via Napalm Records. Undoubtedly one of the most exciting comebacks in recent years, this release includes the fan and critically acclaimed tracks „Burden“, „The Cave We Fear To Enter“ and the recently unveiled „We Are The Dead“ featuring guest vocalists Alex Terrible (Slaughter to Prevail) and Tom Barber (Chelsea Grin, Darko),

Today, the impressive metalcore anthem „Whitewashed Tomb“ is released as the fourth single – together with a new music video. The atmosphere is initially reminiscent of film music, before powerful vocals, rhythmic riffs and dark electro sounds come to the fore.

Frontman Tim Lambesis on the track and the video:
„‚Whitewashed Tomb represents the balance between melody and aggression that AILD is known for. The way Phil and Hiram produced the song gives it an interesting modern twist. When Phil wrote the original demo, I could immediately recognize the classic melodic metal influences in the guitar melodies, which stand out with an underlying dark theme. So lyrically I wanted to use a white shroud as a metaphor. At first glance, it’s something clean and beautiful, until the dark, rotten side comes out. I love what Ryan Neff has added to underpin this contrast vocally as well.“
